I hope you have had the chance to read my co-worker and friend Jenny LoBello’s blog from this past month. She shared some wonderful insight into some of the most dangerous apps for our kids that at first glance can seem totally fine! I loved reading her blog and if you have not had the chance you should read it here.
Technology is such an important part of our lives and when used correctly it can also be a great tool to help your kids grow spiritually. Since last month we warned you about some apps that can be deceiving, we thought it also might be helpful to tell you of 5 that are great and can even help your kids grow spiritually.
You Version Bible App for Kids: This is fantastic app and a great way for your kids to explore the Bible. Very young children will enjoy watching the Bible stories and preschoolers will love the challenges it offers to make sure they are engaged. The animation is fantastic on this app.
Right Now Media App: Did you know that members of BridgeWay have free access to this wonderful site? Right Now Media not only contains some wonderful videos your kids enjoy on the computer or phone, but an array of devotions and studies you will find helpful as well on marriage, parenting, your work and more. If you don’t have a login, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com and we will get you set up.
SuperBook Kids Bible Video and Games: This app is great for older elementary kids. Not only can they read the Bible, but they can take quizzes, play games and more. The animation is well done and your older kids will enjoy the challenges.
Jesus Calling for Kids Devotional App: This is a great Bible education app. If you are looking for some family devotions that are simple to follow this is a great resource. After many years of writing in her prayer journal, missionary Sarah Young decided to listen to God with pen in hand, writing down what she believed He was saying to her through Scripture. She shares those writings in this app. Be sure to download the kid version which has been written for older elementary and preteens.
Parent Cue App: Do you want to reinforce the lessons that we are teaching in Bridge Kids each Sunday? If so, then you need to download this app. The Parent CUE app provides simple CUES throughout the week that remind you to pause and make the most of everyday moments. The Parent Time section has videos, podcasts, and articles just for you.
We hope you find these links helpful! It is our goal to partner with you and equip you with resources that will encourage you as a Christian parent. Keep us posted on what you think of these apps. We would love to hear from you!
