Vision & Mission
Vision
We strive to break down barriers to be a church without walls. We recognize that politics, socioeconomic status, race, and ethnicity can create unnecessary divisions which keep people from experiencing faith in Christ. We believe that the gospel is for everyone, regardless of their background.
Mission
BridgeWay’s mission is to foster connections to God, to others, and to help others connect with God.
We connect to God through our weekly worship services, where we celebrate Jesus through songs, biblical teaching, and weekly communion. Our teaching often involves studying entire books of the Bible, providing our members with a deeper understanding of the Christian faith.
We value community and the church as a spiritual family. Apart from Sunday morning services, we gather in groups. Groups deepen our relationships with others and help us to grow in our faith together.
Finally, we are committed to sharing our faith. We support missions both locally and internationally. Faith is meant to be shared and we strive to embody this value in our community. As a church without walls, we strive to live missionally. This involves both local outreach and international missions. BridgeWay members are encouraged to invest in the life of one person through our “Love One” program.
Theology & Beliefs
BridgeWay is committed to following the Bible which helps us understand God’s will and character. Our beliefs are rooted in Holy Scripture, rather than creeds or denominational views. We focus on the essential beliefs that unite all Christians, which we call the “irreducible minimums.”
“Irreducible Minimums”
+ Salvation
Salvation cannot be earned; rather it is a gift that can be accepted through faith in Jesus. In response to grace, we turn from sin and are obedient to Christ in baptism.
+ The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God, without error in the original writings, and is the final authority for all Christians.
2 Timothy 3:14-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Matthew 5:17-19
+ Jesus Christ
Jesus did for us what we could never do for ourselves. On the cross, Jesus became our substitute, bearing our sins and becoming the only sufficient payment for our sins. Through Christ, God brings forgiveness and new life to the world.
+ The Trinity
God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are one. As they share in deep community with each other, we value the selfless relationships modeled in the Trinity. We enjoy the “grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.”
+ The Church
We are a body of believers called to share God’s love with the world. We are the visible expression of the Kingdom of God on this earth.
+ The Forgiveness of Sin
God brings forgiveness of sin and new life to us through Christ.
