Vision, Mission & Beliefs

Vision

Our vision is to be a church without walls. All too often, churches create unnecessary barriers to faith. Politics, socioeconomic status, racial or ethnic background can be divisive in our culture, but we are committed to the truth that the gospel is for everyone.

As a church without walls, we are committed to living missionally. This means that we prioritize local and international missions. We encourage all of our members to “Love One” by intentionally investing in the life of one person in their life. We also support local and international missions points.

Mission

Our mission is about connecting to God, connecting to others, and connecting others to God.

Connecting to God means that we value worship. Each week we gather to celebrate Jesus. Our worship services include songs, biblical teaching (we often study entire books of the Bible), and weekly communion.

Connecting to others means that we value community. We think a church is a spiritual family. In addition to Sunday mornings, we gather in groups throughout our area.

Connecting others to God means that faith is always meant to be shared. As a church without walls we value missions and sharing our faith with others.

Beliefs

At BridgeWay, we believe in being biblical. That means we look to Scripture to understand God’s will and character. We trust the Bible and are led by the Holy Spirit–not by theological statements, creeds, or denominational views. We focus on what we call “the irreducible minimums” or the essential beliefs that make us Christians. We believe these unite all followers of Jesus, regardless of denominational or theological distinctives.

We recognize that there are many secondary theological issues on which sincere believers may disagree. When these issues arise, we do our best to provide both clarity around what we believe and why. Most importantly, we strive towards being generous and humble when different points of view are shared.

+ Salvation

Salvation cannot be earned, rather it is a gift that can be accepted through faith in Jesus. In response to grace, we turn from sin and are obedient to Christ in baptism.

Ephesians 2:8-9; 1 Peter 3:21

+ The Bible

We believe the Bible is the inspired word of God, without error in the original writings, and is the final authority for all Christians.

2 Timothy 3:14-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Matthew 5:17-19

+ Jesus Christ

Jesus did for us what we could never do for ourselves. On the cross, Jesus became our substitute, bearing our sin and becoming the only sufficient payment for our sins . Through Christ, God brings forgiveness and new life to the world.

2 Corinthians 5:21

+ The Trinity

God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are one. As they share in deep community with each other, we value the selfless relationships modeled in the Trinity. We enjoy the “grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit.”

2 Corinthians 12:14

+ The Church

We are a body of believers called to share God’s love with the world. We are the visible expression of the Kingdom of God on this earth.

1 Corinthians 12:12-13

+ The Forgiveness of Sin

God brings forgiveness of sin and new life to us through Christ.

Ephesians 1:7-8
